Washington Street Resurfacing Complete

The City of Waukegan has completed a full resurfacing of Washington Street from Green Bay Road to Park Avenue, rebuilding one of the city’s busiest arteries to better handle daily traffic and support local business.

The project included full-depth pavement reconstruction, updated striping, and ADA-compliant curb ramp upgrades at every intersection along the corridor.

“This corridor connects neighborhoods on both sides of the city and carries thousands of daily commuters,” said city officials. “Rebuilding it properly means a smoother, safer commute for years to come.”
